Cities are fighting a losing battle here. Once it’s settled how UBER and it’s own new competitors become entrenched and economically viable, I believe there will be a case of Class Action Lawsuits against cities who declare on one side the environment, public transit, HOV LANES and higher density core populations in order to remain alive in terms of their economic self interests vis a vis other cities who decide to bite the bullet and embrace technological change.

Don’t say I said so… but the writing is on the wall on this one for cities. It was up to them to come up with better TAXI LICENSING MODELS AND HANDING THEM OUT IN A BETTER WAY THAN THE LAISSER FAIRE ATTITUDE OF THE GOOD OLD BOYS DAYS.
