You would think. Makes them look a lot like the criminals they say they’re trying to catch. Remember the enticements of winning free things from a decade or so ago. BUSTED.
But not so fast here. The intent is a little more rooted than just sending falsified information in the hopes of catching a fish with bait.
For the ‘WHY’ you really have to go back to the cold war mentality of all the wrong information so that the other side is caught with more than just their pants down. Holding the joystick and in the ‘HEAT’ of the moment is what really turns them on. Pride goes a long way when they slam the door shut on a case.
Dig and you shall find. It’s not overly complicated. Watch a lot of good old war movies.
What’s really changing the skid of same old same old is the lone wolf, isolated cell split strategy model. Add the mix of light speed communications and voila – it’s a whole new curve ball of a potential bad guy into a timebomb caught too late. Paris Nov. 13 was a great example of all the things gone wrong.
