Good moral decision. There is honor in the action and words of an apology. If it is sincere.
Wars are never good. Although orders and allegiance is paramount, the treatment of prisoners of war is what makes a losing side a difficult mountain to overcome when it ends.
In this moment in time, consider it the right thing to do and help where you can, now that time has passed.
It’s never a pretty picture, and hopefully this decision to move forward on the subject will put the spirits of those in turmoil at better ease with their conscience and spirits.
