Seems to me that building a better safety net would seem logical.

Both for the fishermen and whales. One that snaps or breaks apart at certain depths or by forces applied to them such as a whale that is entangled.

For sure, it’s not straightforward. But the current net designs surely are just improved versions of yesterdays inventions.

Let’s see some real thinking in this area. There’s lots of room for improvements.
