…”Since 2009, U.S. retail outlets have been required to use labels such as “Born in Mexico, Raised and Slaughtered in the United States” to give consumers more information about the safety and origin of their food. “…

The spirit of the law is well intended. However, the labelling should reflect the COUNTRY POINT of ORIGIN, RAISED, FEED and Slaughtered(what an ugly word – find a better one).

CRITICAL QUESTION is ‘WHY’

HELPS TO TRACK ANY CHEMICALLY, IRRADIATED, GMO AND DISEASE INFORMATION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.

IF COUNTRIES ARE GOING TO RESIST THIS SIMPLE NEED FOR SAFETY, THEN IN MY OPINION THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE.

AS FOR THE WTO – GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND REQUIRE ALL COUNTRIES TO JUMP ONBOARD SUCH A LABELLING REQUIREMENT. YOU WOULD BE IN A LIABILITY POSITION IF THIS SIMPLE COMMON SENSE LAW DOESN’T BECOME LAW.
