A short story on the nature of decaying matter. Specifically, eating meat. It’s properties during digestion when combined with salad/caesar dressing/parmesan has the dubious honor of compounding methane production, especially if eaten late in the evening and going to bed for a prolonged period of time without using the bathroom facilities.

The extra methane gas that is produced is OFF GASSED through the skin pores in huge quantities. So much so, I could in fact light up a fire – smell is overpowering.

Interesting note here as the gas overproduction goes into high gear. Once it finishes the over production gas phase(anaerobic bacteria) and the ‘extra’ unused methane is not out gassed through the pores of the skin, the body switches mode.

It uses the lungs as the alternative mechanism. The methane smell changes entirely into another different form which I noticed is similar to another form of gas smell, not unlike propane/alcohol combination. Not quiet precise in terms of identifying the smell change, but definitely different than the original smell emanating from skin.

From the above topic on benthic zone life forms, WAVES ARE PRESENT THAT THE LIFE FORMS CAN DETECT AND HAVE ADAPTED. THE IMPACT FROM HUMANS EVEN AT THIS LEVEL MAY SEEM INNOCUOUS AT THESE DEPTHS BUT ARE VERY REAL AND LONG LASTING. THESE PRIMITIVE LIFE FORMS TAKE A LONG TIME TO EVOLVE GIVEN THEIR BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURAL MAKEUP.
