Yep, poor choice of words that I’m sure he’ll come to understand were wrong.

Police aren’t the problem… it’s their training. What may have been standard policy and issue years, decades ago just doesn’t cut anymore when there are so many more factors in a civilized society that needs directional guidance now and then.

The officers on a beat are the solution, they see it everyday. I know, because what a world of difference walking 2 years on the streets of Calgary helped in understand a whole new slice of life slowing down just enough. In a car, truck I would have missed all the nuances and what makes life tick for everyone… including the homeless and addicted.

This isn’t the era of DIRTY HARRY anymore.

Find better policing methods that matches the day. MILITARY STANDARD ISSUE IS ONLY GOING TO ESCALATE THINGS. PEOPLE AREN’T TERRORISTS, THEY’RE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS THAT WANT THEIR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS EXERCISED WITHOUT THE HINDRANCE OF A BIG BROTHER SOCIETY.

YES NOW AND THEN, PEOPLE GET CARRIED AWAY. THAT’S WHERE THE OFFICERS WHO HAVE SEEN IT ALL MAKE THE BEST JUDGEMENT CALLS ON THE FLY AND KNOW WHAT TO DO.

CHOKE HOLDS, GUNS AND JAILS ONLY END UP WITH MORE STREET LEVEL PROBLEMS.

IT REALLY TRULY SUCKS TO BE AN OFFICER WITH SO MUCH DEMANDS AND STRESS MAKING LIFE AND DEATH DECISIONS THAT IN HINDSIGHT THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE DIFFERENTLY. I FOR ONE, AM GLAD I AM NOT AN OFFICER. A DOG IS MY CALLING, BUT NOT THE ONE IN A SPLIT SECOND WHO DECIDES WHO LIVES AND ONE THAT DOES NOT!

HERE PEOPLE CAN HELP BY MAKING THEIR JOBS EASIER WHICH IN TURN CHANGES EVERYTHING. RATCHETING UP EVERYTHING HAS NO END.
