Passing judgment: Supreme Court appointments now shrouded in secrecy | Ottawa Citizen.

Hmmmm, secrecy, huh ???

At least the public gets to know them over time as they are very public officials. The appointment process is the problem as you’ve well pointed out.

What is even more troubling than this is the SUPER SECRET FACE OF THE PRIVY COUNCIL !

NOT 1 IOTA OF A FACE CAN BE PINNED IN PUBLIC OF THE VERY PEOPLE WHO END UP AS THE POWER STRUCTURE BEHIND ELECTED OFFICIALS !

ME THINKS IT’S TIME TO CHANGE SOME OF THE MORE FUNDAMENTAL ASPECTS OF HOW POWER IS DISTRIBUTED, DELIVERED AND ACCOUNTED FOR IN CANADA.

A PUBLIC OFFICIAL IS ACCOUNTABLE EVERY SO OFTEN, NO SO WITH MANY PARLIAMENTARY STRUCTURES.

AND FOR GOD’S SAKE, CAN THE GENERAL MEDIA START PUTTING TOGETHER A LIST OF CANADIAN, FOREIGN NEED BE OF ALL THE THINK TANKS WHO END UP SIGNIFICANTLY CHANGING PUBLIC POLICIES IN CANADA ! SOUNDS ALOT LIKE LOBBYISTS TO ME… BUT PROVE ME WRONG.
