Editorial: New zone rules are draconian.

Here I would have to agree that having gone overboard is over the top. What purpose is served really by extending times when schools are out? Makes sense during school hours and just prior and after to give students the peace of mind of rules of the road. Mind you, students still needs awareness programs to instill a sense of vigilance around vehicles all the time. Just because some post it note on the street or sign says so, there are still plenty of dummies out there everywhere. Inattention being the top of the list distractor.

And in my mind, if you extend times till 9pm in school zones, ‘WHY’ NOT GO ALL THE WAY TO 24 HOURS A DAY ???
