Hate to agree, but the writing was on the wall a long time ago.
In the last 2 years of visiting Calgary…. Being transient by my intent of not having a car/truck and having to walk through it’s character and ecret little charms nooks and crannies, I noticed that it’s history was/is being torn down.
Replaced as usual by mega this/that.
Anything worth saving historically means a building has had a ‘positive’ impact and retains value.
Negative optics when compared to sound bites emitted in stories.. Bye-bye…. Gone.
This is what you could call Social Engineering on a big obvious scale.
Somewhere, sometime, someone made a decision that became policy. Call it council or any PNP, same did here. Observation… Not malicious in this case, but better forgotten in history, legends, myths.
Sad part is that it is viewed as progress !
