Data needs to be more detailed and granular.

General information of this type serves no purpose other than glossing over a headline news story for the benefit of governments who then decide outcomes that end up looking great on election platforms. Businesses also tend to profit from doled out money on programs when the hand outs are flying fast and loose.

Data refinements on permanent(44 hrs), part time under 30/40, temp work of durations less than 20 has a need to be published.  Wage scales would be extremely valuable.  And YES… foreign worker data too !

Time span that the data was collected. No point in job gains if on the day of information submission, the next day has an equal or worst job loss because of intentional manipulation of job data numbers.

I’ve noticed being used like some puppet in the construction temp hiring circus. Hired only when it suits the employer. Whether or not great attendance and want to work. Yep it’s an ugly temp Labour market in Calgary. Jobs that could go for over $20 – $30 / hr being auctioned off at $12/$13/$14 at most. That’s if you’re lucky enough to beg for work !!! These ARE SKILLED JOBS, BUT HIRED ON TEMP BASIS THROUGH TEMP AGENCIES !

And the gulling insulting fact of being paid $13/hr on a skilled job, yet being told by employment agency that skilled labour is only a label with absolutely NO MEANING NOR MONETARY VALUE. WHO DO YOU THINK POCKETED THE DIFFERENCE ??? QUIT THAT AGENCY PRESTO !

Alberta might have a serious skills shortage, but I’ll bet ya $1 million bucks, the data is totally out of whack !!!

To a large degree, the GOOD PEOPLE AT THE DROP IN CENTER ARE ENTITLED TO BETTER, BECAUSE THEY HAVE MADE THE EFFORT TO CLIMB BACK UP INTO THE SOCIAL STRATUM. Leaving those on the dividing line between a deeper hole or back on firm ground is not a viable solution. Waste money at taxpayers expenses, increases taxes at all levels, lost time that dan’t be bought back at any cost and further erosions of Quality of Life for everyone. IE- great toilet debate in East Village on some future battle ground with bloodied bodies strewn about ! Excellent example of what’s to come Calgary. Head just poked out of the sand.
