How in the world can businesses operate like a blind person crossing a busy street without some type of assistance to make it safely across the street?
Foreign temporary workers program was never meant to funnel workers into a fast food joint !
It was meant to assist seasonal industries with a bigger pool of manual labor when needed to get products to markets in a timely manner.
Fries, donuts, coffee, linens, room service and dishwashers don’t come close to having a surge in demand 24/7/365. Any way it’s time sliced, a few hours of increased demand doesn’t justify the import of workers.
Altogether, the sounds of busy pitter/patter feet running around sounds a lot like situation to avoid paying decent wages with assurances that labor laws are circumvented incrementally while taking advantage of foreign workers who know not better in asserting human rights. How can one on a temp visa refuse without fear of being blacklisted and sent back home ? Worst yet, living illegally if a visa is revoked?
Businesses who say they can’t live without foreign workers are DESTINED TO DIE ! Denial of marketplace business fundamentals is a business plan on a suicide mission.

There’s a seismic wave shift coming down the pipeline with respect to minimum wages and hours worked. I’ve had enough time now to assess, evaluate and make a determination of what needs to happen !
