Let’s remember Chris Peloso with a national plan on suicide prevention – The Globe and Mail.
With all due respect Mr. Rae, I agree on coming up with ‘A PLAN’.
Prevention though is and will remaining in my opinion a moving target of failure.
Noble, but mis-aligned with reality if attempts are made to what – label people as suicidal and intervene to stop them – what physically or with more drugs ???
Just as saying let’s come up with a BIRTH PREVENTION program ~! Life finds a way – AT ANY COST, REGARDLESS OF IT’S IMPACT.
What we need is discussion on this obviously painful subject and a comprehensive set of guidelines for the law and courts and people to willing accept as a model of moral compassion for those in dire need and thoughts of pain.
Doctors, lawyers, judges and decision makers are the people who have enough strength of character to withstand criticisms and shots across the bow to allow them the fortitude of time to make the proper calls.
