Opinion: Armed RCMP officers on the slopes a dopey idea.

Critical Question ???

How many RCMP stakeouts and shootouts have we had on ski hills and slopes since the inception of this brainchild ???

Furthermore, what if an officer tumbles in waist high fluff and can’t find his gun?

I’ll argue they definitely need their arms while walking about and doing their jobs off the slopes.

Ain’t heard of or seen to date in the news multi-million dollar cocaine deals going down on ski hill slopes yet !

But hey, bad news publicity like that wouldn’t go down the tubes all that well with resorts.

I’ll just finish off here with the following.

RCMP on hills, okay job with benefits – here sign me up in a heartbeat on that job opportunity.

A friendly reminder that an extra someone is around in case of help other than ski patrols is a positive reinforcement message.

Plus it’s hip ! Not just on High Horses, but boards to boot 🙂

It wouldn’t be great optics having RCMP with radar speed guns handing out tickets either.

Let’s keep it looking good. All without guns and some other stupid idea before it hatches and sees the light of day and heat of mis-conceptions.
