Calgary Herald – Chill out: Environment Canada plans changes to wind chill warnings

Chill out: Environment Canada plans changes to wind chill warnings.

…”Over the years, wind chill warnings have been expressed in different ways: the time it would take for exposed flesh to freeze; heat loss in watts per square metre; or how the equivalent cold temperature due to wind speed feels on exposed skin.”…

Heat loss per square metre – HUH WTF !

How is the average Canadian able to decipher that exactly ???

A thermometer up their arsses ?

Get it together with some plain ENGLISH LANGUAGE PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND.

First of all, it’s always the extremities that are at risk of frostbite and danger. Some type of measure or indication that that is most likely to happen given temperatures and co-factors.

It may not be perfect the first time around, but given enough hopefully brains and computing power, refine the information so that everyone can understand the lingo.

God, even if you got the weather perfectly right for the next 3 days at least – on the dot and money, that would be a start.

As it stands – JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I’m leaning towards private commercial weather enterprises to replace you if that’s what it takes.
