Blizzard forecast prompts call for flexible work.

I would argue that this makes a whole lot of sense. Putting people under pressure in driving conditions while on roads that are in some cases debatable as to drivable questionable at best. Gosh – lots of ‘ables’ this morning.

Lots of new people in Calgary on winter roads that I understand are not salted is almost criminal in itself.

I understand the concept of ‘NO SALT’ roads for the good of the environment. While that makes sense, the other side of the coin is that transportation issues become nightmares in logistics.

From truckers, express deliveries to basic goods and services are impacted negatively. Negative numbers on the economic side. Less confidence in business getting it’s act together only leads business elsewhere.

And that’s not even dealing with employees who don’t show up for work because of accidents.

Find another way or start salting roads intelligently !

From an Ottawa perspective, this looks like just another day in the park. But I’m willing to give it the benefit of doubt – time !
