In my expert opinion, I believe the intentional self destruction of this plant was to accelerate the slide of Ontario into HAVE-NOT STATUS and become a recipient of money from the Federal Government.
It also helps keep people’s gaze and attention spans away from real issues of the day. Namely one of them keeping people to the grindstone working like slaves feeding the system while politicians and friends benefit from $1 billion flying out the windows and doors at supersonic speeds.
Additionally, it is probably payback for previous unresolved issues with Alberta being the prime target of a rich have province having to feed the federal system with tons of money.
My guess is that someone has figured out finally that if it can’t win the status war with Alberta, it’ll follow in Quebec’s footsteps and march along side claiming discrimination on the basis of being a victim of crippling job losses in the last decades, auto, HI-Tech, exports.
