Okay high time we had a discussion about coffee and it’s added components.
SUGAR RATES HIGH ON THE LIST !
Remember the Oil embargoes ???
Remember the coffee prices skyrocketing ???
Ditto for sugar !!!!
Well now we’ve had movement on the coffee front – sustainable organic and guilty free conscious consumer coffee houses.
Somehow that doesn’t ring quite right, so correct me on that last point. What to call mass coffee consumation without guilt ????
Somehow though, SUGAR HAS SLIPPED UNDER THE RADAR !!!
AND IT SHOULDN’T HAVE.
Maybe because of obessions with obseity, diabetes, sugar free this & that, that our collective attention span has wandered afield from the mark of an important food chain ingredient.
I would highly encourage some investigative journalism on it’s history, being tied to slavery and black people.
It’s no wonder now that the trade of sugar has moved to Cambodia, that Cambodians feel just as repressed as people who were dragged kicking and screaming in chains and whips feel that not much has changed since.
Remember the coffee farmers and put some perspective with the same magnifying glass as those who needed fair trade.
We were vested with Columbia. Replace the drug fueled Cocaine business with something else.
Cambodia isn’t any different. It may just save your neighbourhoods from Heroin dealing and stop ruining innocent people’s lives.
Hey, IT’S ALL ABOUT AFGHANISTAN, REMEMBER THAT ????
AHHHH, the drug trade !!!
Walter might have chosen a different way, if THE SUGAR BUSINESS HAD BEEN DIFFERENT !!!
TIME TO START !
