Dangerous is an understatement.
As some who has both driven cars and taken the 76 and 95 buses on that very road and location, I would characterize this crossing as sheer neglience on the part of decision makers who opted for surface level crossings on an extremely busy stretch of NORTH / SOUTH ARTERIAL ROAD !
It should have had the same infrastructure under the road crossing as MERIVALE ROAD.
Someone was looking out for the people on that bus. It could have and I imagine more horrific than this accident.
From the time of it’s opening after the construction I could not come up with words at my dismay and utter anger of the stupid decisions leading up to building this way.
In fact, if memory serves me correctly Provincial laws were changed to permit surface level crossings specifically becuase of Woodroff Ave.
Who paid the price today????
And there are way more similar infrastructure deficiencies with respect to roads in Ottawa.
Take a good look at Prince of Wales near Fisher Ave. That’s a horror waiting to happen.
No sympathy for the guilty parties here.
Neglience rings loud where money is put ahead of common sense.
Ohhhhh, spell out in letters….. Gas plant shutdown and corruption.
