Not just Fort McMurray, Calgary and High River that this question is directed towards.
So here it is –
If One in One Hundred Year floods are happening with greater frequency, doesn’t the math add up to a reduced number such as One in Ninety Years and then keeps going down from there.
Really this One in One Hundred Year guesstimate is probably based on historical sediment deposits in the ground, river banks, tree rings. But that was way back when humans were at the mercy of weather patterns and events.
Fast forward to the present and with global warming and ever increasing weather patterns that rear up their ugly butts more often than not, the past stats are going the way of the dodo and into history.
The numbers need re-calibration with our supercomputer models given the fact that ever faster changing weather patterns are bound to become on the fly minute by minute weather updates when based on SPIRALING EXPONENTIAL NRGY.
So I would get on it – governments, insurance companies and yes financial mortgage industry. Yesterday is just that – history.
You’ve now got to deal with new numbers as your base references called ‘PI IN THE SKY’.
