Well said and argued Mr. Black. My respect for insightful and well stated opi ions.
The only 2 points I would add are these, with all due respect to your article.
First – You are right… the World is treading water, but with the resulting response of ‘Bobbing’ whatever wave of News and wind blows about. Clear lack of strong Leadership seen in times past.
Second – Humanity has the wherewithal to overcome natural cycles of time if they are well understood and steps are taken to harmonize with them rather than fighting them tooth and nail at great human costs. The most recent example of such tenacity and determination to over ome ‘Hell or High Water’ was clearly demonstrated by all Calgaryians and then some to pitch in and help strangers. The Calgary Stampede stands as a testment to all businesses to roll up their sleeves when the going gets tough, instead of throwing in the towel and calling it a day – permenantly !
Now just imagine for a moment if the wisdom of foresight had played a role here ?
Have we truly learned from all our ancestors the lessons that history has played in elevating us all to EVERYTHING and all that we have in Knowledge by our collective minds and ingenuity of engineerin, sciences, math, arts and social empathy for others regardless of their race, beliefs, genders, orientations ?
