Homes affected by Calgary flooding may be condemned as city extends state of emergency
I will fully support condemning homes if and only if there is an IMMEDIATE PLAN in place with easy access to funds needed for rebuilding efforts starting at ground ZERO. Meaning ALL -development fees waived or a plan put in place for people to stretch out fees sensibly over the re-mortgaging period.
This should be a no brainer – dead property – here’s the number to government help that will get you the money to rebuild.

End of story.
BTW – While at it, re-zone if necessary and increase living space density to get more affordable housing into the picture.
How’s that for doing double duty and getting a great outcome out of this scenario.
