Wireless stranglehold: How Ottawa failed to break the dominance of the Big Three
I’m of the opinion considering all our previous attempts at increasing the competitive marketplace pricing of telecommunications to open it up to foreign companies.
Specifically – American, British, French and German or whatever companies are able and willing to enter into the Canadian NATIONAL landscape.
After all, since the demise of NORTEL NETWORKS – our telephones landlines, cellular and data networks have not crashed and burned into dust and quantum particles simply because the pioneer of the industry has.
If there’s a case to be made on opening this up, it’s the political will and mindset to integrate with Americans especially on shared and co-operative values surrounding security issues and protocols.
Nothing more, nothing less.
It’s a win win for everyone, well almost… because it requires conscious use of a national will to change what hasn’t worked into something that encourages more consumerism and that is a good thing for everyone. Including Asian countries. Hey Korean and Chinese companies included.
So let’s all take our collective heads out of the sandboxes and give small businesses and owners a chance to become more successful as entrepreneurs.
It’s the only true thing that has kept all of our economies going since the 2007/2008 financial collapse.
Mobile Telecommunications and especially DATA.
