New street signs a waste of money

Wonder how much ALL those EDR signs cost that were put up over a large area of Eastern Ontario back in 2010/11 ???
Anybody ever got the chance to tally that up ?
And the point being if you’re in an emergency situation this is an Emergency Detour Route going nowhere ! Yikes they should have relied on Google and Bing Maps to help out people on the cheap. At least taxpayers wouldn’t be so screwed.
And really – you won’t need signs to know exactly where you won’t want to be if and when a disaster is imminent and obvious.
That you’re smart enough to figure out without signs is enough to convince me that people are smarter than those who put up signs telling them where to go! Trust me, people are smart enough to know the difference.
