Okay here it is smarty pants – yep that’s all those job search engines et al…

Just started applying my what not called a superior brain to the issue of job searches.

First off the bat – the results are based on the concept of Social Engineering based on where you have ‘BEEN’ and where you are ‘NOW’ in the Dance of Life & NRGY.

Is there anything wrong with that – heck no, seems as if everyone one the planet has bought into it – hook line and sinker. Find job X,Y,Z searching for work and you’ll eventually find something to be slotted into. Courtesy of all the smart brains that right the math into the logic and the powers that be that decide for your viewing pleasure – where you are most likely to end up given management decisions.

So, with that said – for you search engine geniuses how about making sure that what you go through to put all that effort into getting your stuff right and making work so that you can profit from it and build traffic and reputations get feedback from the people who use what you are selling. There has to be a process of verification where what a person gets as search results can be measured and verified against the intended math and logic behind the database information.

Otherwise both those who post job openings as employers and those who would and could be potential candidates can come into contact with each other instead of being just 2 ships in the dark passing side by side without noticing each other.

I’ve always noticed over 30 years of reading newspapers especially the Ottawa Citizen that progressively slowly but surely the entire help wanted ad was reduced to either next to nothing and then if any were displayed – of such poor quality work that the whole exercise of looking for work was at best frustrating and at worst intended to convey the idea that there was nothing available. During that time, I was either fully employed or looking myself. But as in everything else I do, reading the papers and lots of them has been consistent to keep up with the news, advertisements to get a sense of economic activity and help wanted along with real estate ads.

Far be it for me to tell search engines how to do business, but if I were them – I would put a new face on the terms job search.

That’s gone the way of the dodo bird and is an archaic term given that people – okay so those on the lower echelons of the ladder would expect to remain in job searches given many factors.

However those that are truly seeking and expecting more in terms of results would be directed to career search engines. They could even be graded along the lines of job, career, consulting, freelance or something along those lines. A differentiation directed specifically on the individual’s current position with respect availability to the type of work they are looking for as opposed to mega results that brings up all results page after page. Most of the time the results are repetitive duplicate posts of opportunities from different companies displayed many times over.

Why do I bother to point it out – it’s simply a matter of having been there done that in terms of the Sea of Sameness as Raymond Aaron said. If people don’t buy into the search engine, then the social media sites will eventually kill them off.

The Social Media sites are the new normal in terms of the hidden career market. Never mind using Social Media as a job market moniker. People and the way they connect is changing at a pace that matches the global movement of ebb and flow of NRGY. Work follows in it’s wake to match that flow. It the Sea Wave of Change that is redefining the Sea of Sameness. The old terms and ways of calling them are falling apart while new ones are in states of incubation, infancy, growth and trying to find a footing on the NET Stage.

Don’t just call it something new – CHANGE it into something NEW by getting people to buy and verify the effectiveness of the results.

That’s where the money is !
