Death of Polish man tasered by RCMP was a homicide, BC coroners rule
Let me be clear on this issue at the Vancouver Airport since this incident. I’ve listened and heard with horror at the excessive use of force in it’s application against an agitated person who for whatever reason felt compelled to act in such a manner.
Whether the use of excessive force was ordered or intentional – NOW is besides the point. Someone made a decision to go with it.
And considering the excessive use of force, there must have been a reason in it’s application. If not then which is it, intentional homicide or illogical use of the Tasers to subdue this man.
TASERS CAUSE IRREPARABLE ”HEAT’ DAMAGE TO THE BODY – BRAIN & HEART are the MOST SUSCEPTIBLE because ‘HEAT’ is left to stagnate after being incapacitated.
It may or may NOT be the use of the TASERS in this case that are the culprit to the unfortunate end of a man’s Life. The root of the decision should be investigated.
Certainly the RCMP may not be at fault if like every young kid given toy guns believe that all guns are toys. And then BANG on day a real one is used unwittingly and with fatal consequences.
Police are given tools to do their jobs. They as all others are given information about those tools and their use and consequences. If someone along the way misrepresents their fatal potential, then the RCMP as with all other Police forces across the world cannot be held liable for the misrepresentation. However if they knew about this as a potential issue, then by all means pursue the matter to the full extent of the law.
But beware this is real and has fatal consequences if misapplied. It is up to law enforcement to know the rules of engagement before application of the law. They like all other people should know above all else that ignorance of the law does not make them immune to them. Just like driving a vehicle and being ticketed for this and that.
