Great THINKING – What a great way to help small businesses in Canada.

It’ll help small biz owners, employees many who are probably young people just starting to get their feet wet and probably future small biz owners themselves.

Best of all it’ll help keep MAIN STREETS alive everywhere.

Main Street NUMBER 5 is ALIVE, just struggling with the Big Boxes till their business models need to change in time.

If the bulk of the time is spent being sucked up by RED TAPE, then there’s little time left being creative and growing the business to pay the taxes and all other expenses.

STREAMLINE, REDUCE PAPERWORK, REDUCE TAXES, HELP SETUP INTERNET COMMERCE INITIATIVES, OFFER FINANCIAL INCENTIVES TO GET OWNERS GOING FOR FIRST 5 CRITICAL YEARS, OFFER EMPLOYEE INCENTIVES TO WORK FOR SMALL BUSINESSES – NOT to THE OWNERS, BUT the ACTUAL PEOPLE WHO MAY WANT TO WORK for a small business, MUNICIPAL, PROVINCIAL/STATE & FEDERAL ON THE SAME WAVELENGTH PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT. Financial PROGRAMS to get Businesses to co-operate together even more to build strong broad bases of community support. Banking costs kept in check and special business insurance reductions and assistance program.

RED TAPE doesn’t end at all Government door steps. I’m also calling attention to Franishees who have enormous responsibilities towards there Franishors. Small Grandma & Grandpa, Mom & Dad stores – yes, they are in dire need of help. I have first hand experience knowing what that’s all about. But a large bulk of businesses out there, small in size too are reliant on the business models they have bought into. While the constraints placed on them are necessary to make sure that there is some expectation of being homogeneous in offering across the board services and products, the paperwork is overwhelming nonetheless.

This should be made available in special courses that owners would have to take – BUSINESS 101 courses, how to do business, stay in business and make money. Mandatory participation as part of the business plan if they want assistance of any kind. These programs should be PROFESSIONAL GRADE – not so hokey programs setup by SNAKE OIL salesmen.

Time spent in offices is time lost making money and creating and keeping jobs.

What we should root out are the great models out there that offer a real sense of HOW TO DO BUSINESS, HOW TO MAKE MONEY and HOW TO STAY IN BUSINESS IN THE LONG RUN, not here today, gone tomorrow. That defeats the purpose of cutting RED TAPE and taxes dare I say.

Being a COW in some mall strip or MAIN STREET is the same. If you’re being milked till death does you part, no one will want to emulate it that failed business model. Hence displaced great critical masses of unemployed lost souls and more Government headaches looking for quick fixes that ultimately cost us all.
