Finally we’re seeing the light. Price of Oil and Gas at the pump is not due to running out of it, for the moment the argument is Climate Change. Unless I’m challenged and told otherwise, we’ll continue to use infinite amounts of it because it’s endless.
So the question that begs in my mind is at what point – boundary is the price so high, so unjustifiable that we have to hold it at a set price for the global/local economies.
Climate issues aside for the moment – it’s time to start telling people that we’re raising prices because we want them to make personal sacrifices to help the Planet. It’s time for a debate on Conscious Choices, not forcing sky high prices and hurting people, but asking them to make better choices, choices that have real impacts on the planet that we all depend on.
It’ll be a slow process to change the mindsets – we’re addicted, and that will the the Oil & Gas industries saving grace to change it’s own act without destroying it. A lot of people’s lives depend on good jobs and making demons out of businesses that are just trying to supply a demand is not a punishable crime. What’s punishable now is that in the 21st century we now know better – no excuses holds up anymore. Businesses that put there collective heads in the sand, merit’s comeuppance – it’s Karma that it can no longer escape.
The lumber industry has changed in the way it manages itself. Oil and Gas companies know better and are slowly changing the way they are doing business. The critical question is – is it fast enough and how fast should it change. That my friends is the morale/ethical all time question – best left to the brightest minds in the industry. Oil & Gas Police – loyal watchdogs with clear Conscience. They’ll set the Benchmarks – it’s a matter of just listening while keeping the noise at bay.
Time to turn things around where we can now when it’s within our ability and power to do so. Don’t let anyone vilify an industry that has transformed the world in such important fundamental ways. We has simply gotten what we wished for. We love our gadgets, me included, without thinking of all the required elements to have this possible in terms of Man/Women/Resources from a planet NRGY.
Time to make new wishes if need be. That Magic Moment is upon us. The amazing thing is if we don’t change on a Conscious Level, it’ll be chosen for us – and I for one don’t like Caveman days – way too primitive and a long time ago. Those dinosaur days are long gone.
Just don’t try to pull wool over people’s eyes any longer – we’re smarter than that and somehow, somewhere, someplace – the Dance of Life & NRGY will find a way to make balance – it’ll be imposed without discussion.
