Well it’s about time someone admitted that this has been going on for a good while. Actually in Stoves also if it isn’t mentioned in the article.
You can potential and safely say that all our electronic devices have built-in chips to connect as Wi-Fi devices torouters(routers are the modems in layman terms – such as a Bell/Telus/Rogers …. little box – really nothing but a few chips on circuit boards that stores information about were to direct internet traffic over the net). And yes that includes all routers such as Belkin, D-Link, Cisco – Linksys, etc boxes. They are all getting smarter by the second. Whereas years ago, all they were was something like a relatively simple table of numbers connected together to pass info from point A to point B. Now, the information can practically go next door to your neighbours house Wi-Fi router to router without your knowledge and even to a parked car out on the street before hitting the net. Yep, forget privacy over anything Wi-Fi. It’s a forgone conclusion of a connected global society. For better or worst, it’s here to stay. Best way to protect yourselves from eavesdropping is to physically connect your devices together on your own personal network. That way, everyone who hopscotches on your own personal network has some legal explanations to provide in a court of law. No ifs and buts – makes everyone accountable both ways. Bad guys get slapped by the law and authorities have some to legally explain the whys and what of the work they do.
So without further ado, let me just add that all electronic devices have a huge potential to include microphones, CCD cameras to record what’s going on in homes, public and yes even cars, trucks, yadda yadda, yadda.
The ironic part is this – your own cellphone – smartphone can act as your own worst enemy using it as a router to send all that information about your activities over the net willy nilly to whomever wants to pry into your own Dance of Life. So my own advice is as follows – do as the good old days, follow those who want nothing to do with the way the normal world goes about it’s business. Simply good advice if you value anything left about human dignity and respect for privacy.
Finally this last word – yep, there are lots of bad apples out there – they’ve always been around and will continue, regardless of authorities best efforts to get the upper hand and put them out of business for society’s sake. However, rampant invasion of privacy under Constitutional Rights is a big no-no in my opinion – while it’s still humble and not authoritative.
So mind your business legally and legitimately and then you won’t have to live in a George Orwell society of Big Brother getting the upper hand of everyone on the planet – otherwise we’re all headed to a very good version of Terminator with Artificial Intelligence getting the upper hand and doing away entirely with the human race something akin to the Matrix. We’ll all be used to feed into a grid of supplying energy to something created by man, it now thinking in the image of it’s creator and rebelling and becoming GOD.
Ah, so much irony put into little chips of sand and transformed into silicone. Next thing, it’ll become part of your DNA fabric. Yikes, not for me. Thanks but no thanks – the world is going to end before I let that happen. Thank you very much, have a nice day with a better looking scenario.
