Ontario A first-time homebuyer purchasing in Ontario will be eligible for a maximum land transfer tax rebate of $4,000. If purchasing a new property for $1,000,000 the total land transfer tax charged by the Ontario government would be $12,475. With the $4,000 tax rebate, it would bring it down to $8,475.
