Well I’m going to wade in on this conversation. From the get go, with the Kyoto Protocol which had high aspirations to it’s demise and now this CARBON OFFSET SCHEME, I have felt that it was nothing more than mouthwash being thrown in people’s faces in the hopes of stingin their eyesight instead of crying fouling language from their mouths.

If anything – it feels like an attempt at making a ‘KICKBACK’ look legitimate in someone’s books.

We’ll pollute, we know, ah, but here’s 1 million dollars to keep your mouth shut !

Is there really any other way to say it – bad plan and not effective in terms of dealing with the environment. Find another way or at least be honest with people and say it is a transitory phase until a real solution can come about.

But offsets sets me off – ALL WRONG – WAY WRONG LANGUAGE !

Sounds like something a CASINO owes me for gambling in their premises. I’ll take 1 million chips and be on my merry way.
