Marissa Mayer is right: How working from home can be bad for your business
Whether big or small, I believe the issue is moot. Like all business models of yesterday, it’ll be more a matter of adapting to cyclical economic realities and will require both businesses of all types and their employees to do the ‘WAVE’ thing of going with the flow.
In times of expansion, people everywhere. In times of contraction, back to the drawing board and smaller more efficient face to face where innovation and cost savings can both take place.
Yep, another chink in the armour sort of speak for employees to not only lose their old 4 walled offices down to cubicles and then remote telecommuting.
Not fun for sure, but what better ways does business have but to follow NRGY less painfully. Past models based on the auto manufacturing plants should be self evident. Open, close, move, open, close, move,,,,,, etc….
You can’t build vehicles with 3D and 4D CAD programs remotely yet. But like all technologies things change. One day, we’ll have super duper Ray Guns instead of antiques. One day in your bathroom, from your new nifty device while in the shower, you’ll come up with an incredible idea to add to that just in time new model being printed out using 4D or whatever is the latest greatest instant plug in.
The world is inching towards SUPER COSMIC DATABASE models and A.I. Everyone is either too blind to see or the powers that be don’t want to scare people with Terminator scenarios.
I guess I’m the only idiot willing to say something at the risk of looking like an alarmist.
Think I’m crazy – okay look up the ARPA projects evolutionary timelines and see what that gets you today if you can uncover it all.
Don’t forget AREA 51 for good measure.
