McCready’s death highlights role of guns in suicide
While everyone is clear that I’m not a fan of all things guns, I don’t know what the statistics are in cases of suicides by the use of guns as opposed to any other methods.
Suffice to say that for the moment, guns are pretty definite I believe in the minds of those who see it as their final solutions to Life.
I would not for the time being blame guns as being the biggest culprit in suicides. Anything you could get your hands on basically will do the job. Ashley Smith’s case is an excellent example.
If you are determined to end your Dance of Life, then you’ll go to any lengths of NRGY to end it.
Where I believe all things guns and weapons are considered out of control is by intentionally killing others and many of them at that. Then there are the accidental deaths and those of innocent children who don’t know any better and have no concept of the finality of guns especially.
In the case of Adam Lanza, I believe that his overall sense of pain could be dealt with by more deaths in a quicker fashion. The obvious question unanswered is why he took it out on very young innocent children instead of only adults.
BTW still waiting for answers on the state of his computer and digital footprint within the hard drives and on the NET !
Finally I would go so far as to not put guns in an unfair fashion in terms of a method of suicide unless statistics clearly show something really skewed in terms of their overall use.
Going after assault weapons makes much more sense.
Responsible guns owners don’t kill. But people with guns and weapons who become mentally afflicted by drugs, alcohol, medicine, diseases and psychological breakdowns will kill with criminal intent. It becomes a lost of control by choice and choosing to go down that road. Unless there’s a police officer for each and everyone of us at our sides, I don’t think society can stop this. You can only slow it and hope for the best.
If the issue of assault weapons can’t be clearly solved, then what’s the point with drunk driving, distracted driving and driving under the influence of drugs ??? Harm to others comes in many forms. Guns then become easy targets of discussion.
And yes for the record, less guns wouldn’t hurt, but hey there’s a limit to the difference between being smart and stupid. If you eliminate guns altogether for the purposes of this discussion being suicides, something else will replace it as a preferred method to kill others and yourself with.
