How’s this for Critical Thinking !

Slowly reducing options to their most viable and realistic practical implementation is usually a challenge at best. If your just starting off let’s say at the undergraduate level working towards industry certification with diplomas then I would assume that you’ve done your homework and evaluated the relative probability and outcome of being employed in that field.

These are some of the elements that I’ve defined as major Role Players and Baseline Reference Categories with career options.

Given the number of years of education, financial investment, expected debt load once graduated, population statistical information of employable people in your field of expertise, possibility of relocation, immigration factors, gender benders(men vs. up and coming women in your field), visible minority preferences, age related drop-outs because of health, retirement and injuries, possibility of transcontinental work-shifting at a moment’s notice due to technological innovations.

All these factors point to one thing in common. These are all assumptions at best given the moment in time the decision process was taken. However there is a hidden side as well. A much bigger and hidden Macro Social Engineering policy that dictates your probable chances of success based on your conduct.

Call it if you will Shape-Shifting your future. Whether you are aware of it or not, because of competitive pressures, only the best RAM in Class hard headed and aggressive types are in it to win with the help of those behind the scenes. Invisible figures with real fingers on the buttons that determines eventual outcomes.

While it smacks of Big Brother intrusion and the concept is getting more sophisticated by the day with newer Technological Advances, this and a whole other slew of Social Engineering techniques have been in use for thousands of years.

The most visible of those are the arranged marriages conundrums of the past and present. Rest assured that the techniques of social engineering are sophisticated and varied enough to act in tandem within suitable subtle methods within society deploys it’s interests locally and globally.

The trick to all of this as I have mentioned in the past is to suspend disbelief altogether. By making the leap of faith at connecting disparate dots which to the observer and recipient of social conditioning and engineering in time on a grand scale seems unconnected yet in reality for those pushing the buttons is all too real.

Incredibly huge computing power and databases have made this reality a whole heck of a lot easier. At to it fast network speeds, unlimited smartphones and surveillance techniques that all but renders past methods obsolete and bingo you’ve got the recipe for Life Altering Shape Shifting outcomes that are out of your hands.

With that said, let me give you a simple example.

I’m interested in furthering my Computer Skills and Knowledge. As an example using SAIT(Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) here in Calgary, the course is outlined that would be a good fit for what I’m interested in. Yet the course fee lists for $16,000 CDN dollars. Add extra miscellaneous fees, plus living expenses not covered by financial student loans and your looking at well close to double that for about 1 year’s fast track course. Now the argument is that it pays about $36.00 per hour making it look like approximately $76,000 per year.

Wow is the word – right ! Hold on – where’s the job market available for that kinda of money. Back in Ottawa, I wouldn’t have been able to get more than 3 – 6 months government contract work from a temp agency hiring me nowhere near that number. Sure the Government can hire you directly. Only tiny little detail is that it has preferences for visible minorities, women first and certainly no one in my age group of 50+ years of age. Discrimination without a doubt.

Now what are my chances here in Alberta. Well the way I’m looking at it, people are pouring into Alberta at a fantastic rate. More and more are looking for the same and only job available – so we end up playing GOD as the Administrator of jobs availability and keepability. Use ’em for all their worth, burn ’em for all their worth, and underpay them for all their worth – after all complain and you’re out, don’t do the job and you’re out, someone else is willing to do your job – cheaper, too old – forget it, unless the pool of immigrants is so out of it that you’re actually starting to climb up that desirability ladder for gainful employment.

Almost sounds like a complaint rant, but actually turns out the way it works in many job categories. Not all are subject to the same rules and of course it really depends on your determination to get, keep and do whatever is necessary to keep the job. Yep that includes doing the boss if that’s the bottom line. And trust me, you’ll still be a puppet after the shows over, remember there’s another one to sleep in the sack once you’re old news.

I’ve seen lots in my days, yet this is all new and I’m really enjoying surfing it for all it’s worth.

The best advice I can give you here is this. Start your own business and keep an eye out for elements that are causing you grief. Those are the Big Dots connected to a much bigger system that is trying to hinder you and hold you back. You’ll just have to learn to adjust by taking it into account and not letting it control you.

Otherwise you run the risk whether working for yourself or others of being steamrolled by larger forces that are out to make sure that only the very most aggressive succeed and win at your expense.

That’s my lesson from 2012 – DRAGONS, DUNGEONS and DOGS !

BTW – DOGS are much stronger and better than Dragons. I’ve proven it by keeping it tied down and on a leash at bay. Now that’s about to change too…. 🙂

Welcome to the Year of the SNAKE ! Shedding the old.
