Maybe so, however I’ll bet $100 that you weren’t employed by either. Hence the absurdity of the acquisitions on a daily basis and the ridiculous amounts in the BILLIONS to buy them from Nortel’s persecptive was a good buy because potential competition was swallowed up and not available to other companies.
Especially at the time Cisco, Juniper Networks and not to mention up and coming Huawei.
Besides Enron was an American version of hubris, greed and out of control business based on NRGY.
Not exactly the same. Definitely not the same Government watchdogs – US Government if I am not mistaken stepped into that debacle with Enron.
Canada – ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADDA, HASTA LA VISTA BABY, WE HAVEN’T GOT A CLUE WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT
Sums it up nicely. Then the Government and City of Ottawa like vultures took over the Crown Jewel properties. I’ll bet you for a Dance and a Song. What did the people owed money get – you got it, read the above for a refresher.
Here’s another one for you – CIBC had a hand in that demise too I’ll bet. Try and dig that up and see what comes up, you’ve be surprised.
Oh BTW, I don’t see any remorseful conduct by the ex CEO willing to part with their bonuses at the very least to make up for some of the losses. Hmmm, isn’t that fancy !
