Calgary Sun – Alberta Premier Alison Redford prefers ‘no new taxes’

My humble piece of advice – I would suggest a more diversified economy.

Too many eggs in one basket relying on OIL Revenues. Yes Alberta is ALL about OIL, lots of it.

But if anything is learned from the volatile markets of up and down economies past, present and future, is that it’ll repeat itself in some fashion again. You can count on it.

Time to put up buffers to help the Government of Alberta handle those swings and not be in the same crunch again and again. It’ll look foolish not learning from them. Otherwise the risk is an exodus when things turn around and some other fancy new technology comes along and swoops the brains and hearts away from this beautiful province.

Peter Lougheed would have done no less.
