Despite more licenses being issued and more drivers on the street, cabs will be hard to come by on New Year’s Eve

It’s high time the City of Calgary comes into the 21st century for a city of this size.

Add another 500 Cab Licenses the majority being with condition that they are available for night time pickup/drop off during the hours of 9pm to 6am.

If need be go outside of the usual licensing requirements and/or have a new Cab company startup and provide the needed transportation.

If you don’t then you are open to liability lawsuits with the new drinking and driving laws of Alberta.

That goes without saying for all Alberta too. If you pass laws requiring responsibility on the part of drivers, then you need to step up to the plate as part of the solution. End of story.
