The conversation has merit and value. No doubt that NRGY will continue to be abundant and in free flow. The only moral/ethical reason that prices will increase and should be used as an argument is climate impact and change. Not an imminent shortage although in time pumping out oil at an ever increasing rate is bound to hit a wall.

What the NRGY industry should brace itself for is a changing level field. Gone are the days of rumours of auto giants buying up secret plans to build 100 mile per gallon engines. The oil industry will be faced with alternative competing concepts on every level ranging from hydrogen fuel cells, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and maybe even solar powered ones. And who knows, maybe some yet to be cooked up miracle powered vehicle.

One thing for sure, while Oil will remain dominant in the NRGY sectors for many years to come, 50 – 100 year time frame from now the landscape will be very different and Alberta, Canada and oil producing states if not prepared to embrace the idea will be in dire straits because of arrogance.

So it really does make economic sense to broaden minds, economies and respond to global realities. In spreading your wings far and wide, intermingling economies broadens risk and spreads wealth. But most of all this type of thinking spreads goodwill and a shared attitude of being there to come up with common solutions for let’s say as an example an Alberta market willing to work with one in China. Both working together to ensure stability and synergy. Whether it’s China or Africa or the up and coming Attic frontier – oil will remain a powerful tool to use both in good ways and not so.

It will remain a test of our collective conscience to use it wisely to yield positive results. Otherwise only conflict can come from a long ago era that time has so graciously given Humans to tap into it’s potential. And if not respected on all levels – environmental, climatic and planetary the human costs will be too great. The planet can only take so much – after all it for good reason we call it Mother Earth – and she will make sure the message gets across to us and Father Time. πŸ™‚

Moral/Ethical Conscious Choices – or have them be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. That mirror we stand on is fragile – no different than the one we look into everyday. God is the signature image of both. If not, the disconnect will be costly. Time to pay attention and change directions.
