Other historical usages
In the Chinese calendar, a sexagenary cycle is commonly used, in which days or years are named by positions in a sequence of ten stems and in another sequence of 12 branches. The same stem and branch repeat every 60 steps through this cycle.
Ptolemy’s Almagest, a treatise on mathematical astronomy written in the second century AD, uses base 60 for all numerals. In particular, his table of chords, which was essentially the only extensive trigonometric table for more than a millennium, is in base 60.
Book VIII of Plato’s Republic involves an allegory of marriage centered on the number 604 = 12,960,000 and its divisors.
This number has the particularly simple sexagesimal representation 1:0:0:0:0. Later scholars have invoked both Babylonian mathematics and music theory in an attempt to explain this passage.[5]
Base-60 number systems have also been used in some other cultures that are unrelated to the Sumerians, for by example the Ekagi people of Western New Guinea.[6][7]
What really got me going is the highlighted text in bold. If I’m not mistaken, I believe that is the approximation of ONE HALF OF A GALACTIC CYCLE OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM AROUND THE MILKY WAY. One half of Yin and One Half of Yang. I believe as per Michio Kushi’s earlier explanation on NRGY that we are on the Nadir of that cycle. Hence in terms of NRGY we are at a point called Sagittarius in Western Solar Astrological terms and in terms of Oriental Astrological terms the RAT.
My conclusion is that we are at a critical juncture in terms of the definition of marriage, union between opposites and the way NRGY is about to change dramatically – violently if it has too to bring about balance.
