Question ???

Seems obvious, but it always seems the same – year after year with all these drug busts. I’m not critical that Police are cracking down on this, however here’s my Question – Why always Montreal or Quebec or in this instance B.C.

Ontario rarely gets a mention in these types of mega drug busts. Never a peek out of OPP or Toronto Police or even Ottawa cracking down on these types of mega mergers of drug networks. This has been going on for years.

Seems to me that either the drug dealers and business people who run these operations think that Quebec and Montreal is a better place to do business or that somehow places in Ontario just slip under the radar a lot better.

Toronto in my opinion should have top billing for these types of crackdowns. Followed by a close second is all of southern Ontario. The status quo in terms of drug activities across the country has got to change. Young people think it’s okay after a few hits that the sky’s the limit and get themselves into huge trouble and society has no way but to deal harshly with them for it’s own safety. Public campaigns have to go further than just saying no to drugs and Zero Drugs not for me. The true costs just like cigarette smoking has got to get out there. If it’s addictive to smoke cigarettes and the costs to all of society for allowing it, even though we tax them to hell, then we owe it to ourselves and future generations to make informed decisions about it’s costs. If young generations get the message loud and clear, then when they make choices that lead them astray into the world of drugs, dealing, theft, abuse, exploitation and finally murder, well they’ll only have themselves to blame. Then and only then will it be an informed choice. It’s got to be a big public campaign on the hidden costs to everyone. Otherwise it’ll be catastrophic for everyone. There’ll be no good quality kids left, no families, no kids and no society. The price is to high to stick our heads in the sand. Either we make drugs legal and make everything accountable or we make it a visible choice that costs.

For me it’s simple, kids deserve better. We all know they do and it starts with older more experienced generations to mentor, guide, inform and make sure that kids know how to choose wisely. Yes kids will be kids and they’ll make mistakes. They have to learn, but let us remember that we ourselves are like war veterans. We’ve also been down those roads at some point in our lives and are lucky for the most part that things didn’t get worse. Older generations should thank their lucky stars. It is an imperial imperative to leave a better legacy to young kids who don’t know any better and especially the naive ones who shouldn’t be taken advantage of.
