Taxes are usually well intentioned and for a reason and purpose – to solve problems in a timely manner. The problem with taxes is this.
There never seems to be a time in which it has served it’s purpose and no further need for it. Once tasted, like little magic pills, the temptation is to continue with the pattern of wanting more – just ask addicts, whether it’s gambling, drugs, medication or whatever else. All of the time after they’re introduced as a measure to fix something, whomever was responsible in proposing it and implementing it, once they leave office, others who follow in the halls of power follow the same previous footsteps. Dealt with by previous administrations, not responsible and not my agenda to revoke or stop it. Afterall our budgets are contingent on the fact that we can work towards black ink only if previous taxes stay on the books. Removing them as we’re so often told would only result in increased debt service levels. The arguments that follow becomes an exercise of no just increasing taxes further, but by how much more.
Resisting the urge to use taxes is one of the hardest lessons for governments. Once that road is taken, then the same needs to apply if implemented within that law to terminate it. No ifs and buts. However, putting a new one in place to replace a terminated one isn’t the answer. It’s obvious that the problem that first required the need for a new tax should have been addressed by the time it is no longer required to have it on the books.
Governments serve people, not the other way around. People have requested consensus through group idealogies to solve bigger problems than could be solved by individuals only. Witness a catastrophic event like hurricane Sandy and this is where the role of a big effective government with leadership comes in to help. Taxes to fix the problem and then have it come to an end.
People will always be creative with money and the way it’s collected – legally or otherwise. The onus is on governments everywhere to make sure that the money they collect serves it’s purpose and intent morally and ethically. People in positions of power and authority have that moral duty to do the right thing. Otherwise corruption seeps into every crevice of human fabric and turns paradise into living hell with slaves in perpetual bondage. A time comes when change of unthinkable horrors is required to stop the slide.
The time for change and Conscious Choice is here. Whether you look N. E. W. S. the story is the same. No one can escape the time spent on a little planet called earth and think they can get away with it forever. NRGY works in spirals and is accelerating at an exponential rate. Do the right thing before the wrong thing is too late to fix.
