Well one of the easier solutions in the meantime until taxi cabs are up to snuff is to get the public transit system online longer so that it helps alleviate issues of life & death situations in the middle of winter.

It’s a bigger problem than just cabs in a city this size. Okay, so there where problems and still are today. Get over it and put all measures into place so that lawsuits don’t come banging on someone’s door.

If there’s a delay in getting taxi changes and measures in place, it’s no excuse to wait until then to temporarily put other solutions in place. Public transit in all cities – not just Calgary are on the front lines. People want to go out and blow some steam and their lives are in jeopardy every single time they go out to public places, events, clubs, bars, restaurants and left hanging without a way to get back home.

And in Alberta, if new drinking and driving measures can see the light of day at the speed of light for the public good, then it’s just as easy in this connected society to move on getting all forms of transportation options online in the blink of an eye. Heads in the collective sand just doesn’t fly anymore. Time to move change at the rate of what’s happening out on the streets and in real life.

If public transit and taxis don’t work – put horses, ponies and stalls back on the streets. At least it’ll be another set of options available. Hey, if flying were practical in downtown Calgary, I’ve be the first to suggest it. Until hoverboards & crafts become widely available we’re still in holding patterns. Time to untie the knots and make it work.
