I’ll put forth another valid argument on the subject of NOT having any need for Casinos, whether especially in Ottawa and Ontario.
In a city that has successfully implemented NON-SMOKING bylaws to help wean people off smoking addictions, but especially with an eye to control, manage and hopefully reduce and stop people from smoking and costing the health care system billions, tell me how having Casinos anywhere at all is better?
You cannot use the argument that Casinos would bring income to Ottawa – especially when there is one right next door in Gatineau. The little dollars in profit for the City of Ottawa would be minuscule compared to the debt incurred to build one. So – pass the buck to Ontario to fund Casinos – right with $14 billion in debt, that’s a great idea especially when we’re talking about building more than 1 new Casino.
So, what’s left with any remaining arguments to build one, when we know from data that Casinos are responsible for a whole new host of addiction problems that will definitely cause increased health care – particularly – get the point of a new Mental Health Institute – like the Royal Ottawa!
So who’s gonna profit – please enlighten me if I’ve missed the point of the logic in all of this????????
So are we honestly interested in saving people from themselves and saving the health care system more than a few bucks, or are we interested in ripping off people who are bound to get addicted to imaginary luck???
Anyone ????
