So, I apologize for not being quicker to comment on this important issue.

Obviously from previous news reports issues have cropped up between Alberta and British Columbia. And the Federal Government has decided to step aside as middle man between them.

Fair enough, it’s tough being Big Brother and taking candy from siblings. I’m not in favor of tough love on issues that in reality would benefit a lot of stakeholders if issues could be settled in a civilized and agreeable manner.

Whatever the deep issues, I’m encouraging both Premier Christy Clark and Premier Alison Redford to have a tete a tete again with just one note taker each in closed session until an agreement in principle can be hammered out. Details can come later by global micro managers who should undergo the same process.

Start at the Top and work it down. Why, because this affects an extra-ordinary number of nations, governments, businesses and ultimately people.

We all know about the environment and no need to re-hash it here. Build whatever pipeline to get oil to markets that are willing to pay for it and make sure that everyone stays in the loop on environmental issues through live data just like the XL issue. Pipelines that goes NORTH EAST WEST SOUTH is smart. All markets have access and makes it an alternative in case of an incident – yes let’s be realistic – anything man-made(sorry for the term) is bound to fail/break and will need revised quality of standards to fix it. It’s human nature not being perfect.

So the only issue that really remains is how to split revenue/risks. Iron it out. Otherwise as I have said in the stair business while in Calgary – one day the Chinese market will wake up and build Ikea style DIY plastic stairs and ship them to builder/developers.

So if oil doesn’t flow down pipelines, they’ll send them through Mega Double Tankers, Mega Huge Rail Cars, Russian Cargo Planes and maybe the next version of the Space Shuttle. Your choice, cause the money and the will is definitely there to do it when the price and markets hit the same sweet spots.

Think it through and sit down while the going’s good. 🙂
