Okay great, now the only question I have is how can stuff like this go on for so long –

I’m not a professional, but seems to me that the children who have been abused for so long are like toast. Nothing in my opinion is ever going to help them recover from something like this. The sad part is that they’ll probably need to be monitored lifelong so as not to repeat history. Very sad indeed. 😦
