You can add Pusan or Busan depending on nomenclature, South Korea as one of the most important shipping hubs of Asia. And that was in December 2000. Russian presence was unreal and actually every eerie – remember it felt like a ghost like presence hanging in the night time air.

And to my amazement in the space of almost 2 years upon my return in July 2002 to South Korea, the speed and rate of the changes were amazing.

So it follows in the space of more than a decade Pusan/Busan and Vladivostok changes must be nothing less than phenomenal.

All it took was a little push and shove from every direction to get the area unblocked from being a backwater and dead end.

Now if they can just build it, they will come – Berring Strait Bridge between Russia & Alaska.
