As a techie, I already suspect that this technology has been incorporated for some time into monitors and newer TV’s without disclosure.

Purpose to see how the technology works and to refine it’s application. Ultimate purpose – gauging reactions to what is being viewed.

I would recommend caution with this until such time as the public is made fully aware of what is going on behind the scenes.

I can only think of 1 nefarious purpose for this – spying ! Plain and simple invasion of privacy and Constitutional Rights.
