Society has gone to great lengths to help those unfortunate enough or by their own choices get the help in places of respect, safety and dignity.
However after a very quick cursory introduction to this way of life, my intuitive feel is the following.
Men in this case and I’m almost convinced women despite all considerations briefly aside also have the common trait. The events that have lead them there is their lost of direction. Despite all constitutional and conditional influences, knowing the difference in their choices has been the most important factor. What they need more than anyhting else after entering an emergency shelter once settled in is how to take responsibility for their own personal destinies. You cannot just place fancy words on T-shirts or walls or minds. The need to make a direct connection between choices is based on the human capacity to want to either participate collectively helping others or face self destruction. Hence since people are mostly focused on just surviving at a very basic level – get money, next fix whatever that is, the only way that they’ll truly get it about energy and choices is by being hands on in getting out of their hopelessness. Here is what I think may do the trick. Give them one on one hands on help starting with understanding the impact of food on the human body. Macrobiotics is one way, but there are others suited to the task. Start with basics and let them make the connections. Positively with food and all addictions they will fall off the bandwagon. Let them make the mistakes and learn. Men more than others will resist. Afterall they were never expected to be at home and in kitchens cooking. Start with those closest and able to and have the best chances of understanding at first. It’s a daunting project to say the least and difficult to master. I’m speaking from personal experience. Having masters cook for many is also helpful, but ultimately each and everyone in shelters have gotten their their own own choices. Hence they are the best judges of how to be their own doctors. Hey it’ s my quick take on it.
In my opinion learning all about food and it’s importance will be the hardest thing that men can go through. It beats correctional behaviour and incarceration by infinite measure.
