Not thrilled at the thought – however

As much as I have a very strong negative reaction to drug use, the Cat’s out of the Bag. Too late to sink our collective heads in the sand and pretend that Drugs are not harming our societies in ways unimaginable. The whole spectrum of Drugs touches every facet of humanity, nations far and wide are as much victims of wars surrounding total control and cash flows. Corruption ensues and then common people become victims, if not in places like Mexico, then in our own backyards during critical events during youth or even as a way to make ends meet financially. No sex or age is spared – men, women, children all impacted in some way. Violent crimes committed by neighbors, individuals simply trying to get ahead losing all sense of human dignity towards others once the powerful scent of money waifs in the air and all that it could fix and buy. Tragic events changing Lives almost instantly – all because of illegal drug sales and use.

I don’t like it, but for the moment, in my humble opinion some domains of drugs needs to be rethought in how it is managed. Our past ways of dealing with it has failed and doesn’t work. I’m not saying it’s an open market for all of them, but until such time as we are able to come up with a great solution, drugs should be managed the same way that alcohol, tobacco and prescription drugs presently are. If we can sink tons of money to try and fight it, then surely we can sink lots of money to make more money from it and stop the carnage. I don’t like it, but can someone come up with an alternative plan, cause what we have now ain’t seriously working out !
